About us

Our vision

We want to celebrate the apple by bringing forgotten orchards back to life and encouraging people to love their apple trees again. Working with the local community we will make the most of what we already have. Harvesting and collecting apples that otherwise would go to waste to make our own, great tasting craft ciders. We will strive to use 100% juice content, natural yeasts and a minimum of intervention or additives.

Our values

We are members of the South West of England Cidermakers' Association (SWECA).

Community, heritage and sustainability are key to what we do. Members of the local community bring us their apples which we swap for cider or cash. It means that most of the apples we use don’t travel far to make it into our cider. We are passionate about sharing the history and traditions of cider making and protecting and preserving apple trees for future generations.

Wiltshire's Best Cider

Born out of adversity and from humble beginnings Circle Cider has grown into an award winning craft cider producer. Being made redundant from his job in 2011 prompted Nick Howard to turn a 200 litre cider making hobby into a business in the back room of a suburban Swindon semi. A change in career direction and Circle Cider, named after The Circle in Pinehurst, was born.

Award winning cider

Our ciders have been judged by Taste of the West, the largest independent regional food group in the UK, to be quality West Country products. They have also received awards from The Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) and the South West of England Cidermakers' Association (SWECA)

Butcher’s Boy and Roundabout were awarded Silver in the regional Taste of the West 2015 annual awards. Our Cat’s Tongue cider didn’t miss out - it was highly commended.

We're thrilled to be amongst the winners in such a prestigious food and drink awards.

Wiltshire's best cider

Circle Cider is a family run company, set up by cider entrepreneur Nick Howard, who is passionate about cider, in 2011. We produce a new range of named ciders each year from medium sweet to dry. Our apples are gathered from a variety of sources many are from forgotten and abandoned orchards often bringing them back in to life.
